When the plant closed in 2002, they stayed by partnering with the island's existing distillery to launch the Shipwreck range. Four-year-aged Caribbean molasses rum, hand-blended on St Kitts with whole-ingredient infusions: Madagascar vanilla, Brazilian coffee, Brazilian mango, Grenadian nutmeg, and locally-pressed St Kitts coconut. Bottled at 36% (the Coconut Cream at 15%), the range is built to be drunk without bracing."}]},{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"The bottle takes its name from a British troopship sunk by the French navy off St Kitts in 1782. Inside each label, a hand-written message is dedicated to the men aboard. The Shipwreck Spiced was named Best in Class at the 2018 International Rum Expert Panel. The Coconut Rum holds the Beverage Tasting Institute's highest score ever awarded to a flavoured rum: 91 points. The tasting room and visitor centre operates at Fairview Great House, the only French plantation house remaining on St Kitts, built around 1701 on the lower slopes of Olivees Mountain."}]}]}
